Is U-shaped tempered glass safe?

Tempered glass can be seen everywhere in our daily life, such as doors and windows of high-rise buildings, glass curtain walls, indoor partition glass, lighting ceilings, sightseeing elevator passages, furniture, glass guardrails, etc., are all tempered glass, that is, safety glass. Why is tempered glass safe?

Tempered glass is prestressed glass. To increase the strength of glass, chemical or physical methods are usually used to form compressive stress on the surface of the glass. When the glass is subjected to external force, the surface stress is mainly offset, thereby increasing the bearing capacity of the glass and enhancing the wind pressure, heat resistance, cold resistance, and impact resistance of the glass. Tempered glass has its transparency, cutting and breakability, forming oily fragments, and reducing harm to the human body.

Tempered glass is also made of flexible glass by quenching or air-cooling. Its safety is higher than that of ordinary glass, which is why tempered glass is being used more and more.

Tempered glass is high-quality float glass. When it is heated to a temperature close to the softening point, it cools rapidly on the glass surface, causing tightening stress to be distributed on the glass surface, while tensile stress is in the center layer. Because the tightening stress is strong and flat, the tensile stress generated by external pressure is offset by the strong tightening stress of the glass, thereby increasing the safety of the glass.

There are several ways to distinguish real tempered glass:

1. The appearance of tempered glass is not as smooth as ordinary glass, and it is highly reflective, which is due to the rough and convex appearance of tempered glass.

2. The hardness and strength of tempered glass are higher than ordinary glass.

3. It can be seen that the production date and technical conditions, enterprise name, and identification number (if any) of the product are all produced by regular enterprises, which are safe and reliable.
