Safety of U-shaped glass
U-shaped glass is a glass product with a special shape, which is difficult to temper in general steelmaking furnaces (low yield and poor toughening uniformity). Therefore, most of the U-shaped glass used in our country is annealed glass, not tempered glass. Tempered glass is safety glass, annealed glass is not safety glass, and the application of ordinary U-shaped glass is limited.
However, U-shaped glass is a product with very special shape and performance, which is very different from ordinary flat glass. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a detailed study on the safety of ordinary U-shaped glass to provide sufficient basis for architectural design and product application. The U-shaped glass mentioned in this study refers to ordinary U-shaped glass that is not toughened.
The safety of glass mainly refers to the damage resistance of glass and the degree of personal injury after damage. The current international and domestic glass standards generally adopt three test indicators: bending strength, falling ball impact performance, shotgun bag and double tire impact performance.
That is, only the U-shaped glass where the drop point is located is damaged, and the surrounding glass units remain in good condition. Compared with ordinary glass parts, the damage range is smaller, which helps to reduce the harm to people when the glass is broken.
