About the use of tempered glass

The self-explosion of tempered glass is inevitable
Self-explosion is the characteristic of tempered glass, which is inevitable. This is the consensus of industry insiders. To reduce the self-explosion rate, the only way is to select the original glass and perform secondary heat treatment. Even so, the self-explosion rate of 1‰ is now the limit and cannot be reduced any further. The self-explosion rate of one thousandth or two-thousandths is already a high-quality product, which means that it is completely normal for a project to explode a few or more than ten pieces, and everyone will not find it strange.
However, even if a piece of glass explodes, it may injure people and destroy property, resulting in serious consequences. Moreover, people outside the profession do not know that this is a normal situation, and it will cause a lot of fuss. The media will hype it up everywhere, and the small matter will become a big one, making it difficult for curtain wall manufacturers to cope with it.
It is necessary to replace the self-exploding glass, but the cost of replacement is far more than the glass itself. It is even more difficult and dangerous to replace it with super-high-rise curtain walls and special-shaped curtain walls.
Moreover, once a self-explosion occurs, it means that similar incidents may occur in the future, but when and where is unknown, making people lose their sense of security. Every time an accident is analyzed, the owner always asks worriedly: "Will it explode again?" We can only answer helplessly: "It's possible, but it's not qualified yet."

Public buildings should use tempered glass with caution
Facts in the past few years have shown that tempered glass, as "safety glass", is used in public buildings with dense traffic, which has great safety hazards, making owners and visitors feel unsafe. Because you don't know when or which piece of glass will explode, and a hail of glass will fall, covering the sky and the earth, injuring people, and destroying things.
So in public buildings with dense traffic, when you have to use single-piece tempered glass, you must be cautious and take the necessary safety measures:
1. Tempered glass should be subjected to secondary heat treatment.
2. An isolation zone is set under the curtain wall, and equipment that attracts pedestrians and spectators to stay is not organized. There are no booths, catering, or sales locations against the wall indoors. Outdoor parking spaces should be separated from the wall, and beautification or pools should be placed at the wall.
3. A canopy is set at the entrance and exit.
4. A metal safety net is installed above the flow of people.
5. Explosion-proof film is applied.
