What are the methods for repairing building curtain wall glass?
The following methods are generally used for repairing building curtain wall glass:
1. Removing Broken Curtain Wall Glass
Removing broken curtain wall glass is a challenging task during glass replacement. It requires not only a thorough understanding of the original curtain wall structure but also extensive experience. Since the original curtain wall glass is shattered, carelessness can result in broken glass fragments and other shattered glass components, especially the glass portion of the curtain wall, making removal even more difficult.
2. Removing the Original Glass
Tape the fragile glass surface to prevent glass fragments from falling off. Then, gently remove the broken glass from all sides. Use a pump rod to move the entire piece of broken glass into a safe bucket. After using a wallpaper cutter to clean the debris around the glass, remove the sealant around the glass with a wallpaper cutter. Then, use a hexagonal wrench to remove the aluminum glass fixture from the adhesive joint.
3. Removing the Aluminum Structure of the Broken Glass
Bond the glass and aluminum structure with a two-component glass structural adhesive. The curing time for the glass structural adhesive is two hours. After the glass structural adhesive is cured, the glass surface is eliminated and safely transported to the construction site.
