Precautions for tempering special-shaped glass
Special-shaped glass is a new type of architectural glass developed in foreign countries in the past decade. It is a large, long strip component made of silicate glass. Special-shaped glass is generally produced by rolling, pouring, and rolling methods. In the production process of the glass tempering furnace, the tempering parameters of the original glass are generally set by the engineers of the glass tempering furnace manufacturer. When special-shaped glass needs to be toughened, the setting of the tempering parameters of the glass must follow the following principles:
1. For glass with holes and grooves, the heating time of toughening is increased by 2.5%~5% compared with the same standard glass.
2. Glass with sharp corners and glass with an angle of less than 30° reduces the heating time by 2.5%~5% compared with ordinary glass heating furnaces. These should be processed later to prevent the corners from absorbing heat too quickly and causing bending.
3. For embossed glass, when the glass is placed, it is generally not flat and upward to avoid ripples caused by too long a heating time. Sometimes, the heating time is determined according to the thickness of the glass, and the wind pressure is also.
4. For heat-absorbing glass, the heating time is generally less than 5% of that of ordinary glass.
5. For coated glass and heat-reflecting glass, in order to protect the coated surface, the coated surface should face upward. The bottom temperature and heating time should be increased by 2.5%~10% compared with the case of the same thickness of ordinary glass.
6. Glazed glass must be dried before entering the furnace. The upper and lower temperatures are generally set to about 700℃. If the glass is bent, the wind pressure should be adjusted appropriately. The heating balance pressure can be reduced by about 50%. The heating time is related to the glaze color.
For the tempering of special-shaped glass, after understanding the above-mentioned tempering parameter setting requirements, it is recommended to test temper a small number of glasses before mass production. Adjust the relevant tempering data in combination with the specific actual situation to ensure the tempering quality of this batch of special-shaped glass.
