The Application Of U-Shaped Glass in Service Centers
Ground Floor: U-shaped glass (for transparency) paired with matte aluminum panels (for privacy), achieving a dual division in both function and visual perception. Second Floor: Colored concrete (echoing the texture of water conservancy projects) combined with small window openings and cherry blossom reliefs, strengthening the expression of regional culture.
The ground floor functions are "disassembled" into independent U-shaped glass boxes, which are embedded into the landscaped grassy slopes, breaking the enclosed form of traditional public buildings. These glass boxes adopt modular installation, balancing construction efficiency with post-construction maintenance convenience. When integrated with linear light strips, they form a "light box" night view effect, catering to the needs of rural nighttime activities.

Its translucent property resolves the contradiction between openness and privacy, satisfying both the daily use of villagers and the demand during the peak tourist season of cherry blossom viewing. Compared with traditional curtain wall systems, U-shaped glass ensures aesthetic effects while enabling cost control, making it suitable for the budget constraints of rural revitalization projects.
The application of U-shaped glass in the Xuecun Party-Mass Service Center is not a simple material accumulation, but rather uses materials as a medium to connect four key dimensions: functional zoning, spatial experience, regional culture, and nightscape. It has become an excellent case of the localized application of modern materials in rural public architecture. This "translucent box + earth-sheltered building" model provides replicable experience for the design of rural public spaces in the context of urban-rural integration.
